Objective

Knowledge, understanding and proficiency of:
- the use of the ECDIS equipment to a safe navigation.
- use ECDIS equipment and related navigation systems in decision-making.

ECDIS, Electronic Chart Display & Information System, STCW A-II/1, A-II/2
ECDIS hardware and the use of electronic charts: ENC, RNC
ECDIS device restrictions
Use of the ECDIS device for the route plan, for safe route monitoring responsibilities and effective navigation with ECDIS device
The content is based on the IMO model course 1.27

Teaching methods

Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. ECDIS system familiarization lecture hours in class. ECDIS operation and route plans in the simulator.

Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.
