Objective

Knowledge, understanding and proficiency:
- Ability to safely perform and monitor all cargo operations.
- Familiarity with physical and chemical properties of oil cargoes.
- Take precautions to prevent hazards.

Oil tanker design, systems and equipment.
Pump theory and characteristics, including types of cargo pumps and their safe operation.
Tanker safety culture and implementation of safety-management system
Monitoring and safety systems, including the emergency shutdown
Cargo measurements and calculations
Effect of bulk liquid cargoes on trim, stability and structural integrity
Cargo-related operations
Cargo-related operation plans, procedures and checklists
Calibration and use of mointoring and gas-detection systems, Instruments and equipment
Manage and supervise personnel with cargo-related responsibilities
Physical and chemical properties of oil cargoes
