Objective

You are able to
define and identify elements of interpersonal communication, culture and global communication;
compare and contrast cultures’ values, beliefs, perceptions, and communication styles;
recognise negative perception: racism, prejudice, negative stereotyping, ethnocentrism;
analyse intercultural interactions and evaluate situations using intercultural communication skills in the Finnish context;
communicate and collaborate with other people and cultures in an increasingly global and interconnected world
demonstrate understanding of the Finnish social, political, economic and cultural environment

How to recognise cultural differences based on comparing elements of one’s own national culture to Finnish culture?
How to communicate effectively in intercultural settings?
What are the main features of Finnish society in terms of politics and economics including social and cultural factors?
