Objective

You are able to take into account the life cycle of a product in logistics planning.
You are able to identify and prioritize logistic development needs in the demand-supply chain.
You are able to calculate the total costs of logistics operations.
You are able to network with different operators, specialists and companies.

Content

How is inventory management defined by inventory management principles?
How is the success of inventory management assessed using key figures?
What must be taken into account in the design of warehouses?
How are the company´s total logistics costs calculated?

Location and time

The student can take the course together with an olden study group.

Materials

Study material is in Moodle.

Teaching methods

Scheduled track:
The student proceeds according to the time schedule.

Independent track:
The student can take the course in his/her own workplace if he/she has the possibility to make an inventory analysis corresponding to the assignment. In addition to that the exam is required.

Blended track:
The student can take the course together with an olden study group.

Exam schedules

Re-exam can be taken on XAMK´s general re-exam day in January or Feruary 2020.

Completion alternatives

The student can take the course in his/her own workplace if he/she has the possibility to make an inventory analysis corresponding to the assignment. In addition to that the exam is required.

Student workload

The student´s work time is about 135 h in average.

Further information

The assignments include group discussions in the classroom.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment is based on assignments (70%) and exam (30%). Both must be passed (grade at least 50%).

Assessment criteria, fail (0)

The student gets from assignments or exam less than 50%

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student gets from the assignments and exam 50% - 69%.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student gets from the assignments and exam 70% - 89%.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student gets from the assignments and exam 90% - 100%.

Qualifications

Completion of Warehousing logistics, or equivalent knowledge.
