Objective

Students understand the importance of designing food products and services both to consumers and B2B customers. Students learn to generate new ideas to food service field and are able to develop service packages. Students know the food and service development process and are able to apply your evaluation skills during the process. Students get familiar with the principles of launching new products.Students learn how to set prices and how to choose price setting strategies.

Content

What are the differences between services and products? How to analyse the product development process from the viewpoints of customer expectations, costs and received benefits? How to develop food services and food products? How should the price to be set from the viewpoint of competitive advantage? How to consider basic marketing principles?

Assessment criteria, good (3)

a) You can use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations. b) You are able to look for information in the key information sources of the field. c) You can identify interrelated tasks fluently. d) You are able to work together with customers, users and target groups. f) You can promote teams´goal-oriented operation.
