Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- maritime information sources needed in passage planning
- use of maritime information, charts and publications in preparing passage plan
- use and interpret shipborne meteorological instruments and shore based meteorological information

Passage planning:
- relevant regulations
- charts, sailing directions, publications
- conducting passage plan

Meteorology:
- atmosphere
- wind
- sky and precipitation
- visibility
- pressure systems
- weather charts and forecasts
- weather information services

Teaching methods

Scheduled track: You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. Lectures, learning tasks and training tasks.

Blended track: Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.
