Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) in detail as well as operation and purposes of its sub systems
- principles of using the frequencies of the global maritime distress and safety system
- correct use of all equipment of ship radio station
- the procedures of maritime radio traffic as well the use of the frequencies and channels of the global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS)
- the student is able in any circumstances to perform emergency, safety, and other radio communication duties on MF, HF and VHF frequency bands and via INMARSAT satellite terminals in compliance with international Radio Regulations
- the student will be able to pass the theory examination of the GOC qualification concerning maritime radio system and ship radio station
