Objective

Clinical nursing
• you are able to perform the main clinical nursing tasks and diagnostic tests as part of the overall care for a patient diagnosed with an internal disease or cancer
• you are able to administer and evaluate safe pharmacological treatment for different groups of patients
• you are able to integrate nutrition therapy and education in co-operation with a multi-professional network of experts
• you are able to provide nursing for patients diagnosed with an internal disease or cancer
• you are able to carry out humane palliative care for patients suffering from incurable or long-term illnesses symptomatic and support their families

Evidence-based practice and decision making
• you are able to determine the content of necessary treatment and plan the treatment process based on standard decision-making procedures
• you are able to actively utilize research knowledge (recommendations, reports based on research evidence) in your decision making

Patient education competence
• you are able to carry out patient education as part of a nurse’s work in a medical ward

Content

Clinical nursing
• most common procedures and diagnostic tests in clinical nursing
• FNR diet in health promotion and prevention of national diseases
• nutrition therapy and the most common special diets as part of the patient’s overall treatment
• evaluation of the nutritional status (malnutrition) of the patient and its importance in the treatment
• pharmacological treatment, pharmaceutical service, dosage calculations, pharmacology and pharmacy
• most common internal diseases
• most common forms of cancer
• nursing interventions in the care of a medical patient
• nursing interventions in the care of a cancer patient
• palliative care
