Objective

Evidence-based work and decision-making
• you know the most commonly used methods of anesthesia, their applications and basic techniques
• you understand the effects that illnesses which appear at various ages have on anesthesia and its planning
• you know/understand the physiology of pain
• You are able to assess, plan and administer medicine to surgical patients at the pre-, intra- and postoperative phases of treatment

Clinical nursing
• you are familiar with key operating methods in specialist surgery
• you are familiar with asepsis in your own work and patient care
• you are familiar with non-medicine treatment methods in nursing perioperative and surgical patients and with the basics of clinical care skills in the pre-, intra- and postoperative care phases
• you are able to identify the symptoms of surgical complications and treat the patient

Nursing ethics and professionalism
• you are able to work as part of a cross-disciplinary surgical team
• you are able to produce, share and utilize expert competence in cross-disciplinary teams, networks and partnerships
• you are familiar with ethical challenges and your obligations

Quality and safety in social and health care services
