You participate in global discussion on current issues in the social field and understand it´s international dimensions.
You understand how globalization affects the functional environment and everyday practices of the social field.
You are able to work in various cultural and linguistic environments.
You work actively in the international cooperation of the social field.

Content

What makes social field international?
How global has become local in the social field?
What are the multilinguistic and multicultural challenges in the social field and how do you solve them?

Note!
The implementation of the study unit varies yearly. The study unit may contain international student exchange, project work, an international week, language studies, studies in multiculturalism and excursions, through which the student observes and develops his/her international and multicultural competence in the social field.

Materials

Study material will be defined by teacher separately for each implementation.

Teaching methods

The course examines the effects of globalization on the work in the social field.
Implementation of the course may vary according to Xamk´s international activities during each semester.
The course consists of lectures, group discussions and written assignments.

Student´s who - during the course - work in international and/multicultural duties in the social field, have the possibility to study the course differently in relation to their work.

International connections

Cooperation with international partners and participation of exchange students will be possible during the course.
