Objective

You are able to express yourself in Finnish in everyday situations both orally and in writing.

You are able to follow simple speech and read short texts with familiar topics.

You have command of different phrases, structures and vocabulary (CEFR level A1.2 - A1.3). You will get to know some basic vocabulary of your own professional field.

You are familiar with a large variety of grammatical features, like consonant and vowel changes (verbs and nouns), singular case forms and basic plural form (nouns).

You are able to expand your vocabulary and knowledge of language usage also independently using different sources.

You can display familiarity in Finnish culture.

Which sources and tools you can use in order to continue your elementary Finnish studies during the course and also independently?

Location and time

Completing studies quicker takes place by choosing independent methods of study. These can include, for example, online courses or courses from other student groups’ timetables. Completing assignments through this track involves more independent work and learning compared to the scheduled track

Teaching methods

Scheduled track:
Timing A+B, ie. on Mondays 8.15 - 9.45 and on Tuesdays 14.30-16

Qualifications

Attending the course requires completing the course of Finnish 1 or having corresponding skills. Attending the course also requires English skills enabling academic studies.
