Objective

You are able to define the parts of young people’s service system. You learn how youth guidance and service network work to promote young people’s wellbeing. You are able to define the tasks of municipalities in maintaining and promoting young people’s wellbeing. You learn the principles of municipal administration and good administration. You are able to work in multiprofessional networks. You are able to solve problems creatively and develop work practices. You know the data protection and security practices and know how to take them into account in your work. You recognize the open information resources in your professional field and you know how to use them in your work.

Content

What is included in young people’s cross-sectoral service system? In what kind of roles do community educators work in youth guidance and service network? How does the law govern municipal service production? How does the municipal decision-making system work? How do privacy protection and security practices work? How do community educators make use of the information resources?

Assessment criteria, good (3)

a) You can use professional vocabulary related to young people’s service system and local administration systematically. b) You can evaluate information on young people’s service systems, and in general, on matters related to local administration. c) You can work as an expert on young people’s service systems and identify and describe the problems of the professional field. d) You can evaluate operations in customer, user and target group situations. g) You can apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.

Attending the course requires completing the course of Structures of youth work and civic activities.
