Objective

You are able to plan and implement experiential learning modules. You know how to instruct and support experiential learning in the career field of your own choice. You are able to present theoretical and pedagogical reasons for the activities. You are able to choose reflection methods that suit the group and the activities. You gain skills and knowledge in experiential activities.

Content

How do you plan experiential learning modules and what is the role of instructors during the process? Why must the experience be reflected and what kind of reflection methods can you use to support understanding and growth? What kind of experiential learning applications and environments can you use as a community educator?

a. You are able to use professional concepts of experiential education consistently. b. You are able to estimate the information of key information sources critically. c. You are able to work as a team member in working life, observe and describe problems in experiential learning situations. d. You are able to analyze instructional situations in experiential learning. g. You are able to apply the ethical guidelines of experiential education.

Qualifications

Attending the course requires students’ own experiences of adventure education or experiential pedagogy, for example, through the course of International Award Programme.
