Tavoitteet
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to
• Define the term “Internet of Things”
• Explain the meaning of Digital Transformation
• Explain how data provides value to business and society
• Explain how IoT differs from traditional computing
• Describe the fundamental characteristics and capabilities of IoT
• Explain the technological trends that influence IoT
• Describe the impact of IoT on society
• Describe how to automate data collection in the IoT context
• Explain the role of cybersecurity in IoT
Sisältö
Current technological trends that have led to the IoT. The role of digital transformation. Ubiquitous computing applications.
Concept of the IoT. Technical overview of the IoT. Characteristics and high-level requirements of IoT.
Distributed computing concepts. Principles of sensor and communication networks. IoT reference model.
Data analytics and artificial intelligence in IoT.
Cybersecurity in IoT.
The course will consist of online lecture material, quizzes and personal assignments. The course is self-paced.
