Objective

Students master such mathematical skills which can be utilised in various problem solving situations and particularly in economic decision making and for describing economic phenomena. Students are able to plan and manage their personal economy. Students can use tool software in different calculations related to economics.

Content

How are relative portions described, values compared and changes calculated by means of percentage calculation? Why are indexes used to describe developments in many factors in the economy? How do currencies affect the players in the economy? What is an interest and how does it affect the economy of companies and private persons? How is the return on capital calculated and how is its development monitored? How is the profitability of investments measured? How can one search for information required in business calculations from different sources?

a. Students can use professional terminology and different calculation methods in the practical situations of their professional field. b. Students can search information of their professional field which is required in economic decision making. e. Students can use under guidance the main models, methods and software of their own professional field.
