Social Media and Online Youth Work (5cr)

Objective

You familiarise yourself with online youth work and media education and their different methods. You learn the basic principles of Internet rules and netiquette and know how to familiarize young people with safe Internet use. You understand the importance of media literacy and you can encourage young people to be critical thinkers and encourage them to participate. You know how to use social networking services and social media as a tool in youth work.

Content

What are the methods of media education and online youth work? How does online youth work work? What kind of interaction is there on the web? How is it possible to encourage people to participate by means of media education?
