Objective

You become familiar with the research and development work of the social service sector and you are able to identify current research themes in the field. You have knowledge of the main concepts, phases and structures of research and development work. You know the main sources of foresight information and are able to find information from different data sources. You are able to critically analyse the research and development literature of your own field.  You know the main research and development methods in the field and are able to utilize them in development work. You are capable of drawing up a research or development plan. You are able to define the meaning of research and development approach in your work.

What are the main concepts and phases of research process? What are the main sources of information in the field of social services and how do you find information from them? What is qualitative and quantitative research? How do you collect and analyse research data? What are the main ethical questions concerning research and development work? What are the common principles of project work? What is the role of project work in development work? How do you plan, implement and evaluate a research or development project?
