Objective

Students are able to communicate assertively in English in the professional context, paying attention to the demands of the situation, and also in unexpected situations. Students are familiar with the main concepts of the field and can utilise their language skills in tasks requiring expertise. The target level is B2 in the European Framework (CEF) also in work-related situations. The prerequisite for the course is pass grade in Logistics English 1. After successfully ompleting the course, students: are able to evaluate their own learning, evaluate the success of communication situations, and apply their skills in new situations are able to efficiently use language tools (eg. Internet dictionaries, search machines, and proof-reading tools) are able to adapt their communication style according to the situation, interlocutor, and language skills of participants. are aware of the impact of culture on communication are able to use electronic article databases for locating relevant information can interpret and comment research articles written in English are able to use the core concepts of logistics and can communicate both verbally and in written form about demanding work-related tasks related to their field of study can deliver a demanding presentation on a field-specific topic can master the terminology related to occupational safety and environmental impacts of logistics can compare different transportation solutions and modes of transport by using the correct terminology are able to explain how supply chains are built and managed are able to discuss material handling and packaging are able to describe the functions of warehousing and processes related to it

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Description of targets of the assessment is given in the description of the implementation.  Scale: Excellent (5), good (4-3), pass (2-1),  fail (0). Grades 3-5 require language skills in the European B2 level. In addition to the criteria for a passed grade specified in the course implementation description, active participation in the tuition is a prerequisite for passing a course.Active participation means that the student attends 75% of the amount of contact lessons unless the course implementation informs otherwise.  The language lecturers record attendances in attendance registers. A course that is failed due to too many absences cannot be resat by retaking the exam. Instead, the student has to attend the course again. makes sure that they have the study material (e.g. the textbook) specified in the curriculum. takes part in the activities instructed by the lecturer in the contact lessons.  completes the given homework according to the lecturer's instructions and on time.
