Objective

After successfully completing the course, you:
- are familiar with the basics of typography
- know the history of typography
- understand typography as part of the graphic design
- are able to design aesthetical and readable text
- know the terminology of typography
- are able to use typography creatively
- are able to design both print and web typography solutions
- understand the basic principles of font design

Content

- How to design functional typographical hierarchy?
- How to use typography as means of expression?
- How to design a publication that is functional in terms of typography?
- How to design a font?
- How to take target group needs into consideration in the design process?

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically.
- look for information in the key information sources of the field.
- identify interrelated tasks.
- use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field.
- justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.
