Objective

Physics: Students understand the practical importance of the physical principles treated in the course and are able to form and solve essential equations with physical quantities apply their knowledge of physics to practical technological problems and in later professional studies use their knowledge to follow the development of their professional fields use their knowledge in the development of new applications In laboratory exercises students learn to use common instruments, analyse quantitative information and to conduct quantitative and qualitative estimations of observational errors. Chemistry: The student deepens their knowledge in chemistry of their professional field.

Content

Physics: Measurement of basic electric quantities, humidity and its measurement, heat transfer through a wall, noise and its measurement, acoustic insulation of walls, reverberation, thermal imaging of buildings, basic photometric quantities, radon gas in buildings. Chemistry: Chemical reactions of cement and concrete, corrosion, organic chemistry, Chemistry of paints, adhesives and resins. Occupational safety in handling chemicals.
