Objective
Knowledge, understanding and proficiency of:
- metalwork basic skills.
- ship maintenance basics.
- importance of cleanliness.
- safety at maintenance work.
- rust removal techniques and procedures.
- repair paintings.
Content
Basic metalwork: cutting, sawing, grinding, bending, welding and brazing.
Most common ship paints and their applications.
Rust prevention and removal techniques.
Repair painting procedures.
Common machinery services and maintenance
Part of course would be implemented on board the training ship M/S Katarina, if found suitable.

You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. Teaching in class, training tacks on board school training ship m/v Katarina.
