Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- three-phase system
- symmetrical and asymmetrical load
- selection and dimensioning of electrical equipment
- the basic principles and basic components of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and use
Content
- basics of the three-phase system
- structure of electricity production and consumption
- distribution systems and basic components
- principles for selecting electrical equipment and management
- the basic characteristics of transformers and electrical machines
- the basic structure and components of electric motor operation
Evaluation
Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- operation of equipment and system is in accordance with operating manuals
- performance levels are in accordance with technical specifications
