Objective

You can apply evidence based knowledge in acute and intensive care nursing.
You can apply your skills in the key nursing methods of acute and intensive care nursing.
You know how to act in accordance with the principles that promote rehabilitation.
You can systematically assess the need and urgency of a patient's care.
You can act in acute care situations and emergencies.
You know how to plan, implement and evaluate a patient's medication.
You can apply the basics of IV-fluid therapy in the care of an acute patient.
You can apply your knowledge about injuries when threating an injured person.
You can apply ethical principles in acute and intensive care.
You can begin the immediate rescue operations independently and can carry out measures in crises and catastrophe situations.

Teaching methods

Studying includes contact teaching and independent online work. The course includes study assignments, practice exams and final exam.

Preclinical training at school, 100% attendance.

Exam schedules

Final exam is electronic exam in the exam rooms. The deadlines for the learning tasks are announced at the beginning of the course in Learn.
The practice exams must be taken before the pre-clinical training.

Student workload

6 x 27 h = 162 h
Includes studying theory, preparing for the exam, preclinical exercises and preparing for preclinical exercises and assessment of competence.

Theory:
Completing the learning tasks assigned to the student. Evaluation: complemented - passed.
Exam, evaluation: failed-1-5.

Preclinical training:
100% attendance and approved evaluation of learning.
