Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- network constructions and busbars
- main components and their operations
- basics of planning and sizing of electric network
- high voltage work safety requirements
Content
- general view of ships electric network and operation in different operating and malfunction situations
- protection
- general layout of network
- power rating
- dimensioning basicd for cables, electric devices and gear
- installation methods and placement
(STCW A-III/1 and A-III/2)
Evaluation
Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field
- justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field
In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/1 column 4 are used:
- safety measures for working are appropriate
- selection and use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment are appropriate and interpretation of results is accurate
- dismantling, inspecting, repairing and reassembling equipment are in accordance with manuals and good practice
