Nursing interventions

You understand your professional responsibilities and obligations and your actions promote patient safety.
You are able to create a good patient care relationship.
You are able to systematically monitor and evaluate the patient's well-being.
You have the basic knowledge of and the skills to carry out the key diagnostic tests needed in nursing.
You are able to respond to the need for care with nursing interventions and to document the process by entering structured nursing data using the FinCC system.
You are able to implement rehabilitation-promoting treatment and to work ergonomically.
You are able to implement the principles of safe pharmacotherapy.
You master the key principles of pain monitoring and assessment.
You are able to report according to the ISBAR protocol.
You master the basics of resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator.
You are able to encounter and care for a dying patient and support his or her close relations.
You recognize the signs of impending death and know how to prepare the deceased.

Aseptic practices in nursing

You know the principles of infection control and are able to apply your knowledge when practicing infection control.
You know the disadvantages of infections at the individual level.
You know the economic impact of infections on society.

Ergonomics

You know the legislation related to nursing ergonomics and know how to act accordingly.
You are capable of functioning in a customer-oriented manner in an aid situation.
You understand the principles of nursing that promote rehabilitation and know how to implement them in your work.
You are able to take into account environmental safety and risks in relocation and relief situations.
You are able to report and document the patient's assistance situation from the perspective of the patient’s functional status.

You are able to document structured data in a manner that is analogous with the nursing process.
You are able to enter nursing data into the FinCC system to classify nursing diagnoses (FiCND), nursing interventions (FiCNI) and nursing outcomes (FiCNO)

What are the pathogenic mechanisms of infectious diseases, the body's defense system and the means of preventing infectious diseases?

Ergonomics

What is the legislation pertaining to nursing ergonomics and how do you comply with it?

What are the principles of rehabilitation nursing and how do you implement them?

How do you document the planning, implementation and evaluation of the treatment process in a customer-oriented manner?

Practising is based on all the theoretical material on this course.

Theory-studies at school and on-line 5 studypoints

Ergonomie 1 sp

Preclinical training is part of obligatory clinical training for EU-nurses. Every lesson is obligatory.
All the subjects are found from Learn-study-module.

Ergonomics-card gives you recognition of prior learning.

Regarding the documentation of patient data, theory studies and assignments are mandatory.

Clinical nursing 1 includes preclinical training (4 sp nursing, 1 sp ergonomy) at school.

Exam of basics of clinical training.

Evaluation of learning in practical skills: 1 hour/student

Evaluation of learning in ergonomie

Documentation: Documentation of patient data done as a group work using docca software.

Opiskelijan työmäärä

Theory: workload 5 x 27h = 135 h

Preclinical training: workload 4 x 16h = 64 h. 9 practical training-days (7-8h/day) and evaluation of learning. Opportunity to practise independantly at school.

Ergonomics: workload 1 x 16h

Toteutuksen osien kuvaus

Theory:
Self-acting studying and lectures, exam at the end. Evaluation 1-5 / fail.

Preclinical training: 9 obligatory practical days at school + evaluation of learning.

Ergonomics.

Documentation: 2 mandatory lectures and two documentation assignments. Evaluation passed/failed
