Objective

Common learning outcomes (as implemented in degree programmes) 2 ECTS credits:

You know the general stages in a research and development process.
You are able to search for information in the key information environments of your own field.
You are able to read, critically evaluate and utilize the literature and research publications of your own field.
You are familiar with and able to apply the principles of research ethics and reliability.
You are able to compose a literature review based on the materials published in your field of study and your own bachelor’s thesis following the principles of scientific communication.

You are familiar with the current research subjects and development needs of your own field.

What are the phases into which a research and development process can be divided?
How do you find, read and critically evaluate the research data of your own field?
How do you write a literature review that utilizes reliable research data and is linked to your own field and bachelor’s thesis following the principles of ethical scientific communication?

What are the development approaches and/or research methods in your own field and how do you apply them in practice based on the development needs of your own field?

- assess critically the sourse of information
- select the appropriate models, methods and technologies and validate his/her selection
- apply the bases of research ethics

Study forms and methods

•Opetus toteutetaan kokonaan lähiopetuksena Mikkelin kampuksella lukujärjestyksen mukaan. Etäosallistuminen ei ole mahdollista. Lähiopetusta ei tallenneta. Läsnäolo on hyvin suotavaa opintojakson suorittamiseksi. Opiskelu rytmittyy työjärjestyksen mukaisten tapaamisten ja itsenäisesti tehtävien/ryhmässä tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan. Opintojakso koostuu luennoista ja tunnilla tehtävistä yksilö- ja pienryhmätehtävistä.

Timing of exams and assignments

Opintojaksolla suoritetaan oppimistehtäviä sekä laajempi harjoitustutkielma. Opintojakso päättyy lukujärjestyksen mukaisesti. Kaikki oppimistehtävät sekä muut opintojakson suorittamiseen liittyvät tehtävät on oltava tehtyinä viikon päästä viimeisestä kontaktikerrasta. Opintojakso suoritetaan oppimistehtävillä, jotka arvioidaan erillisten kriteerien mukaisesti. Arviointikriteerit kerrotaaan ensimmäisellä verkkotapaamisella. Opintojaksolla ei ole tenttiä.

Student workload

1 op vastaa noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Työmäärä kuitenkin riippuu opiskelutaidoista ja aiemmasta osaamisesta. 5 op:n opintojaksolla opiskelijan työmäärä on n. 135 t, josta n. 30 t on työjärjestyksen mukaisesti luentoja ja ryhmätyöskentelyä opettajan ohjauksessa sekä n. 110 t itsenäistä työskentelyä.

Yhteinen kaikille pakollinen osuus (2op) sekä opiskelijan oman alan soveltava osuus (3op).
