Practical training (15 cr)

Objective

You practice the key tasks of your field under guidance. You apply theoretical knowledge in practice. You develop your capability of independent and effective working.
You are able to complete tasks in your field of specialization.

Content

You find a training place suitable for your specialization. You carry out assignments related to your specialization during the training period. You report on the training according to instructions.

Study forms and methods

Xamk offers its students the opportunity to complete their studies flexibly, adapting to different life situations. There are three learning pathways available to students: a work week-based learning pathway, a learning pathway that speeds up studies, and a learning pathway integrated into working life.

RDI and work-related cooperation

A work-life-oriented traineeship, which is carried out in a cooperative company corresponding to the training.

Practice 30 ECTS consists of two parts:
- Basic training 15 ECTS
- Advanced training 15 ECTS

Student workload

1 ECTS = 27 h student's working time
15 ECTS = 405 h student's working time
30 ECTS = 810 h student's working time

The practical training can consist of 1 - 30 ECTS practical training period.

1) At the beginning of the practical training make immediately an agreement of work placement. The agreement will come into force once all parties have signed.

2) At the end of the training, return the forms to the training manager and save the training presentation to the Learn platform.

Assessment methods and criteria

Upon completion of the practical training student submits the required forms to the coordinator:
- Agreement on work placement
- Realization of work placement
- Evaluation of wor practice (employer)

Once the forms have been returned by the student to the coordinator the study credits are accepteed.

a) effectively use different channels and networks in job search
b) do the key tasks in your field of work
c) act spontaneously and innovatively in the work community
d) identify needs for further development and potential thesis topics
