Objective
After the course you will have learned, in practice, how to develop a basic game concept, from an idea to a pitch.
You will learn teamworking by developing a game concept.
You will have learned basics of game history, character, and concept design.
You have learned how to give a presentation (a pitch) about your game idea.
Content
The studies will focus on Essentials of Video Game Creation (3 ECTS) and will teach you how to create a video game by studying concept design and development.

The studying is conducted during an intensive 5-day camp during which participants will attend lectures, workshops and other activities mentioned in the schedule. There will be mentoring for the groups.
The required skills for Xamk Summer School of Gaming are a good level of English language and basic computer software skills.
Evaluation
Several tasks and assignments will be given to participants, including teamwork and presentations. Students will be evaluated on a pass/fail scale.
Course material
Participants will learn from face to face lectures, materials such as design templates and working in teams.
It is highly recommended to study modules from Introduction to Video Games Creation -course which will provide the fundamental theoretical background for attending the summer school.
Study forms and methods
Individual study tracks can be negotiated with the instructor. It will be available only if the student can provide sufficient basis for such implementation.
RDI and work-related cooperation
The lecturers have a vast experience from the gaming industry, and are currently working in gaming companies. Participants will be connected to IVGC.Discord community.
International cooperation
Lecturers come from England. The students will work in multicultural teams during the Summer School.
