District Heating and Steam Technology (3 cr)

Objective

After the course, the student:
- define the required thermal power and annual thermal energy for a simple building.
- can design district heating systems.
- understand the basics of district heating network design.
- calculate heating plant thermal and fuel power for a district heating network.
- is able to calculate steam systems (can use h,s-diagram and steam tables).

Calculation of thermal power and energy in buildings.
District heating centres and district heating network.
Fuels in Heat production.
Basics of steam technology.

Study forms and methods

Ilmoittautuessasi tälle opintojakson toteutukselle osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseen opetukseen ja ohjaukseen. Opiskelusi rytmittyy työjärjestyksen mukaisten ryhmätapaamisten ja itsenäisesti tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Opintojaksoon ei yleensä sisälly TKI- ja työelämäyhteistyötä. TKI-hankkeiden ja yritysten tilanteen mukaan joitain harjoitustehtäviä voi olla toimeksiantoina.

Arviointi koostuu opintojaksosta riippuen kokeista, harjoitustöistä, kotitehtävistä ja laboratoriotöistä.
