Clinical practice III (10 cr)

Objective

You can work professionally in different physiotherapy contexts with individuals and in group situations.
You can combine the basic knowledge of client-oriented physiotherapy planning and implementation to the musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory and neurological physiotherapy.
You can use and justify the means of physiotherapeutic examination, assessment and influencing at different stages of a physiotherapy process.
You can support clients’ participation in promoting their own functioning in their own environment.
You can describe physiotherapy as a part of clients’ rehabilitation processes and multi-professional cooperation.
You can account for individual resources and the effects of life phases on wellbeing at work.
You can choose, justify and use evidence-based physiotherapy methods to support and promote occupational wellbeing.
You can evaluate how well you can apply your knowhow and skills in different work situations.

Content

How do you assess clients’ functioning in the framework of international ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health)?
How do you support clients’ functioning, advising them to utilize assistive devices, technological solutions and environmental possibilities?
How do you motivate clients to promote their health and functioning with the feeling of empowerment?
How do you evaluate clients’ resources and apply physiotherapy methods to empower clients?
How do you assess workload and how do you affect the factors that appear in them?
How do you act as a physiotherapist in a multi-professional team?
How do you evaluate your own expertise in applying physiotherapy in relation to your own and course objectives?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary systematically.
b. look for information in the key information sources of the field.
c. identify interrelated tasks.
d. work together with clients, users and target groups.
e. use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field.
f. work as team members in a goal-oriented way.
g. justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Ilmoittautuessasi tälle opintojakson toteutukselle osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseisesti työelämäharjoitteluun.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Opintoja nopeuttavana vaihtoehtona on suorittaa työelämäharjoittelu opetussuunnitelman aikataulusta poiketen edeltävyysehdot huomioiden.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Opintojakso toteutuu kokonaisuudessaan yhteistyössä työelämän kanssa.

Timing of exams and assignments

Tapausselostetehtävä ja lääketehtävä. Koululla tapahtuva simulaatio (1op) harjoittelun jälkeen.

Simulaatiot: ti 29.4 tai ke 14.5.2025. Simulaatiot toteutetaan ennalta sovitusti kahdessa pienryhmässä, opiskelija osallistuu vain yhteen simulaatiopäivään.

Työelämäharjoittelu III simulaatioista vastaavat opettajat:
Ville Virta ja Miia Kierikki.

Student workload

Työaika on 35 / viikko, jonka lisäksi opiskelijalle on varattu jokaiselle viikolle 5h itsenäisten oppimistehtävien tekemiseen. Näistä opiskelijan työmääräksi koostuu 40h / viikko.

Työelämäharjoittelussa käytetään oppimisvälineenä ja työajan seurannassa
Workseed-työkalua.
Kertaa Workseedin käyttö ennen harjoittelun alkua ja lisää ohjaava fysioterapeutti Workseed-alustallesi.

Muista hoitaa harjoittelussa vaadittavat rokotukset ajantasalle ja huolehdi että olet esittänyt rikosrekisteriotteen opintojen alussa.

Fysioterapeuttikoulutuksen harjoitteluun liittyvissä asioissa / kysymyksissä ole yhteydessä harjoittelukoordinaattori Pia Kraft-Oksalaan.
