Objective

You master the biomechanics of the locomotor system, as applicable.

You understand the biomechanical functioning of the body for advanced studies.

You deepen your knowledge and skills especially in osteokinematics and arthrokinematics as required in the profession.

You are able to analyze the biomechanics of the body and apply it in the clinical work.

Content

What are the basic concepts of biomechanics in the functioning of the locomotor system?

How do I observe the functioning of the body and understand it from a mechanical point of view?

How do I apply biomechanics in the functioning of the locomotor system?

How do I use biomechanics from an aetiological and treatment point of view?

Evaluation

Students can:

a. use professional vocabulary systematically.
b. look for information in the key information sources of the field.
c. identify interrelated tasks.

The course includes on-campus classroom instruction, complemented by both independent study and collaborative group work.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course grade is determined 100% based on the exam. In addition, other assignments are completed during the course, which are assessed as pass / needs revision / fail. All assignments must be passed in order to complete the course.
