Project skills (5 cr)

Objective

You can define, plan, and implement a project with all its phases following the principles of responsibility and research ethics.

You know the different roles and ways of working in projects and teams, and you can work successfully as a member of a team.

You know the project management methods and are able to use the tools needed in project work.

Content

How do you utilise different kinds of data and international research in a project?

How do you plan and carry out a project and control its progress in all phases following the principles of responsibility and research ethics?

How do you work successfully in different tasks and meetings and as a member of a project team?

How do you apply the main project management tools and software in your own (business) project?

Evaluation

Students can
c. identify interrelated tasks related to the project management
e. use the key models, methods, software and techniques of project work.
f. work as team members in a goal-oriented way.
g. justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Course material

Materials are provided in Learn as well as own materials related to the project report and management.

Study forms and methods

Studies are based on group projects (all phases of the project management).

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course project can be an assignment for companies or organizations, depending on the group.

Students can discuss with the course instructors and their group the possibility of utilizing assignments from their own workplace while completing the course.

Timing of exams and assignments

During the course, there are deadlines for the following project phases:
- Submission of the project topic proposal
- Submission of the project plan
- Submission of the project report
Missing the deadlines will result in a failed course.

International cooperation

Student groups can independently acquire a project assignment from international entities if they wish.

1 cr = 27 hours work

Course part description

Opintojakson aikana on määräpäivä seuraaville projektin vaiheille:
- Projektin aihe-ehdotuksen palauttaminen
- Projektisuunnitelman palautus
- Projektiraportin palautus

Määräajoista myöhästyminen johtaa hylättyyn suoritukseen.
