Objective

Students achieve the required level in chemistry studies at the University of Applied Sciences.

Content

Basics of chemistry, e.g. atomic structure and electron shell, periodic table, chemical symbols of elements and writing molecular formulas, key chemical concepts and units: e.g. mole, molar mass, amount of substance and concentration

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- indentify interrelated tasks

Course material

Study materials are provided by the teacher via the Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

• The implementation entails contact lessons on Kotka campus and scheduled online study.
• The course is carried out within the group curriculum schedule.
• The teacher provides guidance during contact and online lessons.

Timing of exams and assignments

An exam must be taken in the scheduled lesson.

The course may entail weekly assignments.
