You are able to acquire information in English from professional sources and effectively apply it in various study and work-related communication situations, enhancing your professional English skills.

How do you enhance your professional vocabulary according to ethical principles and develop your academic writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills?

How do you acknowledge the importance of technology integration in skill enhancement and the ethical use of it?

Evaluation

The students can

a) acquire information in English from professional sources and effectively apply it in various study and work-related communication situations, enhancing their practical English skills.

b) communicate in English in various spoken and written situations in their professional field.

A passing grade requires B2 level competence.

Course material

Study material is presented on the course platform in Learn.

Study forms and methods

The course involves online meetings, 1,5 hours per week. Classes are organised in accordance with the group schedule. Participation in classes is compulsory. There will be no additional assignments given to compensate missed classes. The course contains online exercises, discussions, and independent assignments. Different forms of feedback will be offered, including peer feedback possibilities.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course offers exercises on subject-specific vocabulary and professional communication of the field. The course material has a big focus on development of academic writing skills for the purpose of future research assignments.

Timing of exams and assignments

There is no exam in the course. Instead, the evaluation is based on the assignments that need to be submitted by the end of the course or according to the dates informed on the course platform.
