Objective

You know the professional ethical bases of social services and how to apply them in the work of the social sector.

You know how to study the work in social services ethically and critically in a sustainable way.

You are aware of the meaning of views on human beings, values and service environment in client work. You know how to analyse your own values.

You know the knowledge base of professional interaction in the social sector and know how to apply it in constructing effective interaction relationships.

You can identify diverse and demanding interaction situations in the social sector and know how to apply the methods of dialogic interaction.

You know how to work professionally in digital interaction environments in the social sector.

Content

What are the professional ethical principles of the social sector and how do you apply them in your work in the social sector?

How do you identify and analyse demanding questions related to the application of professional ethical principles in the social sector?

How do you promote finding solutions to professional ethical questions in social work situations?

What is the knowledge base of professional interaction in the social sector and how do you apply it in constructing effective interaction relationships in the operating environments of the social sector?

What are the diverse and demanding interaction situations in the social sector and how do you identify, analyse and reflect on them?

What is dialogic interaction like and how do you apply it in complex interaction situations in the social sector?

What are digital interaction environments in the social sector and how do you work in them professionally?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts proficiently.

b. manage appropriate methods of information search.

d. work together with client and target groups.

e. use the main methods of interaction according to the their professional field.

f. work as team members in a goal-oriented way.

g. justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Study forms and methods

Osallistut lukujärjestyksen mukaiseen opetukseen kampuksella ja verkossa. Opetus koostuu luennoista ja pienryhmäharjoituksista. Lisäksi opiskelet itsenäisesti ja pienryhmässä tehtäviä tehden (itsenäisen tehtävät, pienryhmäesitelmät, ym.).
