Objective
After the successful completion of the course, the student: has a better understanding of the basic techniques, equipment and materials for drawing, painting and other methods can observe the visual environment and is able to see both the entirety and details appreciates the meaning of composition and colour is able to take part in discussions and interpret pictures through his/her own experience is able to take advantage of visual expression in his/her own field
Content
Students exercise their visual perspective, drawing and painting skills through themed assignments. Students are exposed to techniques, equipment and materials. Students participate in discussions and feedback sessions. The course includes exhibitions and extra material from literature and the internet. Students examine the phenomena of colour. They appreciate the effects of colour and are able to use the appropriate terminology. Students learn to encourage a knowledge of colour in their own fields.
