Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- relevant national and international maritime legislation and conventions
- identifying applicable IMO conventions in a safety-oriented way

Content

- fundamentals of national and international maritime regulation,
- IMO
- conventions, SOLAS, STCW, LL, COLREG, MLC, SAR, Port State Control

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary systematically
- look for information in the key information sources of the field
- justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code tables A-II/1, A-II/2, A-III/1, A-III/2 and A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- legislative requirements relating to safety of life at sea, security and protection of the marine environment are correctly identified
- procedures for monitoring operations and maintenance comply with legislative requirements
