Objective

You know the different areas of safety and security and how they influence each other.
You have knowledge of the key basic concepts of safety and security.
You have a basic understanding of human and technology interaction from a safety point of view.
You understand the difference between deviation and violation and how they should be managed.

Content

What are the different areas of safety and security?
What are the basic concepts of safety and security?
What are human and organisational factors?
What do deviation and violation mean, and why is the difference important?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations. 
b. evaluate information sources critically. 
c. work as team members and promote teams' goal-oriented operation. 
d. evaluate and develop work communities at individual, group and organizational level. 
e. approach work community challenges with solution and development orientation. 
f. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices. 
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
