Unfortunately, no reservations were found for the realization Environmental physics EE00CX27-3001. It's possible that the reservations have not yet been published or that the realization is intended to be completed independently.

Objective

You learn the physical phenomena in nature. You can solve problems in fluid mechanics and learn the laws of heat transfer as well as the properties of gas and the effects of humidity of air. The basics of electromagnetic waves help you to understand the quantum mechanics and the atom’s model. You also learn about the radioactive decay and the basics of radiation safety.

Content

How can you also have tap water upstairs?
How much energy is saved, if the double glass windows are changed to three glass windows?
Where exactly does moist air condensate?
When is the background radiation level too high?

Evaluation

Based on entry-level know-how and skills students can
a. use professional vocabulary systematically.
c. identify interrelated tasks.
e. use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field.

Course material

Teacher-provided handouts.
Electronic material in Moodle.

Fundamentals of Physics, David Halliday, Robert Resnick, Jearl Walker, 8th or newer edition. ISBN: 978-0-471-75801-3.

Timing of exams and assignments

The failed exam can be resit twice. All exam dates mentioned in the timetable of XAMK Engineering Department for Fall term 2019-2020 are available. When preparing for a resit, contact the teacher well in advance so as to allow ample time for checking the retest content area.

Student workload

2 theoretical lessons and 2 lab lessons per week

Further information

The study unit includes 2 exams and 10 laboratory works.
Both exams must be approved, with a 30% minimum of the total number of points achieved for both.

The course is successfully completed when the exams and the laboratory works have been completed successfully.

Evaluation scale

1-5
