Objective

You know the areas and markets of bio-based products and can evaluate their importance. You are familiar with the existing value chains and can analyse how new bio-based products can affect them. You know the basic concepts from the growth of a startup company to a major player on the market and the importance of risk financing in the process.

Content

What are the current market sizes of different areas in biotechnology?
What is the growth estimate in biotechnology?
How are companies evaluated by investors?
What are the developmental visions business and product wise in biotechnology sectors?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
