Objective

You can choose the appropriate models and methods in nursing. You can justify your action in critical way and in accordance with evidence based knowledge. You can coordinate and assesss patient care on multiprofessional co-operation and solve problems. You can solve ethical problems. You can work in planning, executive,evaluation and development tasks. You can see development areas and challenges in the future. You can act as responsible member of the team. You can prevent accidents and sudden illness and provide first aid.

Content

What are appropriate methods and models in patient care? What kind of knowledge you need when you justify your action critically? How you coordinate and assess patient care in multiprofessional co-operation and solve problems? How you solve ethical problems? How you work in planning, executive, evaluation and development tasks? What kind of development areas and challenges you see in the future? How you provide first aid? What is emergency first aid and how you provide it? How you act in the accident situation? How you act as responsible member in a team? First aid 2 (1 cr)

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Assessment guidelines level 3, graduation-level c. You can work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field. d. You can evaluate operations in customer, user and target group situations. e. You can choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices. f. You can promote teams’ goal-oriented operation. g. You can apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.

Qualifications

Drug calculations accepted. Theoretical studies in 1.-4. semester accepted. That certain area theoretical studies accepted (for example pediatric or gynaecological practice)
