Objective

You can utilize multidisciplinary knowledge related to the health and wellbeing of different population and age groups.
You can recognize promotive and preventive models of health promotion on the population, community, and individual levels and use them in different situations and levels demanded.
You can utilize models related to health intervention projects, in the planning and the evaluation of the programs.

Content

What kind of approaches and models of Health Promotion on the population, community and individual levels do you recognize?
How do you choose the model for different communities and age groups?
How do you utilize models on the individual level?
How to choose an appropriate model in the different health interventions?

Evaluation

The student can
evaluate and make critical use of multidisciplinary data in health promotion models.
solve creatively complex problems in research, development and innovation related in the use of theoretical models of health promotion
use new approaches in the utilization of models related in the demanded situations
communicate and interact in demanding international contexts of the field of theoretical models in health promotion.

Study forms and methods

Scheduled track:
Lectures, group work and discussions in the class room teaching. Independent information search and literature concerning models and theirs applicability. Reading and small group working in the web. Assignments, an oral presentation and comments. Exam.

Independent track:
The student works in the regional or local health promotion planning or project. Applying the theories and models to the regional or local health promotion objects and implementation. Exam.

Blended track:
Literature, an independent information search, examination in writing, applying the theories and models with the assignments.

Student workload

Lectures, small group work, discussions and web based learning in the small groups 40%
Literature, independent information search, assignments, an oral presentation and comments, Exam: 60%.

The student can:
- evaluate and make critical use of multidisciplinary data in health promotion models.
