Objective

You know how to act as a podiatrist’s profession requires in various podiatry environments in individual and group situations.
You are able to evaluate different methods of production and acquisition processes of orthotic therapy.
You are able to take advantage of and apply the expertise of your special clients guidance as part of a various assistive device processes.
You deepen your interaction skills with client’s unique and holistic approach.
You understand the importance of multi-professional co-operation in orthotic therapy.

Content

What products and services do you get from an orthotics unit?
How does the process of manufacturing aids proceed and what should you take into account in different phases of the process?

What kind of insole manufacturing methods are used in orthotics units?
How do you describe the acquisition process for special footwear and orthoses?
How do you guide your client individually and holistically?
How is multi-professional cooperation realised in an orthotics unit?

Evaluation

Students can:
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. evaluate information sources critically.
c. work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the professional field.
f. promote teams’ goal-oriented operation.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
