Objective

After you have completed the course you:
- have an overview of the history of Finnish and European art from the pre-historical period to the present time
- are familiar with the development of art history
- can identify and compare different historical periods in art

Content

- What is world art like, especially European art?
- What is Finnish art like?
- What are the characteristics of art in different periods?
- Who are the famous artists, and what famous pieces of art have they made?
- How does art work as part of society?

Evaluation

Students can
use professional vocabulary systematically.
look for information in the key information sources of the field.
identify interrelated tasks.
use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field.
justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.
