Objective

You will learn the basics of mathematics used for solving technical problems.
After this study unit, you
are able to utilize differential calculus to construct a graph of a function and for solving optimization problems
can calculate areas, volumes, centroidal moment of inertia and define centre of gravity by integration
know sine curve and its parameters controlling the shape of the curve
can solve trigonometric equations
know the basics of matrix algebra

Content

How do I use differential calculus to define an optimal shape of a construction?
How do I use small differentials in intergration to define the centre of gravity?
How do I use the sine curve for modeling a periodic phenomenon?
If the sine curve model of tidewater is known, when the water level reaches a pre-defined value?
How do I solve a system of equations by using determinants?
