Objective

After you have completed the course, you
- know how to utilize woodworking machinery
- know how to follow safety instructions
- are aware of working ergonomics
- recognize various types of joints, their manufacture and measurements
- understand the manufacturing process of furniture
- understand the correct types of materials to use in each circumstance, and the role of different structures in furniture
- can use and maintain various hand tools

Content

- How to work with wood working machinery and what are the safety instructions for them?
- How are dimensions of joints and wooden structures measured?
- What kind of different woods there are and how to recognize them?
- What is wood and what kind of properties does wood have?

Evaluation

Students can
use professional vocabulary systematically.
look for information in the key information sources of the field.
identify interrelated tasks.
use the key models, methods, software and techniques of the professional field.
justify their actions according to the ethical principles of the professional field.

Raportti opintojaksosta, johon sisältyy tiedon hankintaa anettuihin aiheisiin.
