Maternity and family nursing (5 cr)

Objective

Client-orientation
• you are able to support the involvement of the client’s family in the care and respecting the viewpoints and strengths of the client

Ethics and professionality in nursing
• you are able to produce, share and utilize expert competence in multidisciplinary teams, networks and partnerships

Clinical nursing
• you are familiar with the normal proceedings of pregnancy, labour and post-natal period, and you are able to monitor them
• you are able to support and promote the well-being of families with children
• you are able to support families in parenting and newborn care
• you are able to assess the need of urgent and emergency care
• you are able to support the functional ability and participation of a disabled person
• you are able to perfrom pharmacological treatment in maternity and family nursing

Evidence-based practice and decision making
• you are able to evaluate the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and assess nursing interventions according to the decision making process in maternity and family nursing
• you are able to utilize research knowledge (recommendations, reports based on research evidence) in nursing decision making in maternity and family nursing

Patient education competence
• you are able to manage patient education as a part of nursing work in maternity and family nursing

The operational environment in social and health care
• you are able to guide the client/patient to use the appropriate public, private and third sector social and health care services to promote his/her health and well-being

Assessment criteria level 3, competence during the completion phase.

a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way

e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Jos työskentelet terveysalan yrityksessä, organisaatiossa tai korkeakoulun tarjoamassa projektissa, voit suorittaa opintojakson tai moduulin työpaikallasi / projektissa joko kokonaan tai osittain. Tällöin olet yhteydessä opintojakson alussa opintojakson opettajaan ja sovit työpaikallesi/projektille tehtävästä kehittämistehtävästä. Oppiminen edellyttää, että työssäsi perehdyt opintojaksolla käsiteltäviin teemoihin ja hallitset ne sekä teoriassa että käytännössä. Osoitat osaamisesi osaamisen näyttönä, jonka laajuus määräytyy opintojakson oppimistavoitteiden mukaan.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Perehdyt itsenäisesti Learnissa olevaan materiaaliin, teet tarvittavat suoritukset ja osallistut pakolliseen lähiopetukseen.

Äitiys- ja naisen hoitotyö laboraatiot 2 op koululla

Student workload

Lapsen ja nuoren kasvu, kehitys ja perushoito 1op = 27h (verkko-opinnot)
Sairaan lapsen ja nuoren hoito sekä pediatria 1,5 op = 40,5h
Äitiyshuolto ja naisen hoitotyö 1 op = 27 t
Seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveys 1 op (verkko-opinnot) = 27 t
Vammaisuus 0,5 op (verkko-opinnot) = 13.5 t

Further information

Sairaan lapsen ja nuoren hoitotyö. Läsnäoloa vaaditaan ensimmäisillä orientaatiotunneilla.

Tarkistathan, että edeltävyysehdot täyttyvät osaltasi ennen opintojaksolle osallistumista:
Hoitotyön ammatilliset perusteet (30 op) -> kokonaan suoritettu (lukuun ottamatta ammatillinen kasvu)
Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin edistäminen (15 op) -> kokonaan suoritettu
Kliininen hoitotyö (30 op) -> vähintään 3. lukukauden opinnot suoritettu
Kliininen harjoittelu I ja II (30 op) -> vähintään 15 op suoritettu

Sairaan lapsen ja nuoren hoitotyö 1 op. Arvioitava tentti, asteikolla 1-5.
Pediatria arvioitava tentti 0,5op asteikolla hyväksytty-hylätty,
arvioitavat oppimistehtävät: hylätty / täydennettävä / hyväksytty

Seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveys 1 op (verkko-opinnot). Oppimistehtävät arvioidaan hylätty / täydennettävä / hylätty.
Vammaisuus 0,5 op (verkko-opinnot). Oppimistehtävät arvioidaan hylätty / täydennettävä / hylätty.
Äitiyshuolto ja naisen hoitotyö 1 op. Arvioitava tentti asteikolla 1-5.
