Objective

• You improve your competence with regards to the prevention and treatment of adolescents' substance abuse and mental health issues
• You improve your multi-disciplinary cooperation skills
• You become familiar with the social means of promoting adolescents' wellbeing, and various networks and the third sector

• Orientation concerning the module's structure and methods of completion
• Preventive mental health care
• Adolescents' well-being indicators and plans
• Organizations that promote adolescents' well-being
• Evidence-based work in adolescents' mental health and substance abuse care
• Adolescents' psychiatric, psychological and neuro-psychological assessment and treatment
• Adolescent psychiatry
• Adolescents as customers of child protection
• On-line discussion forums on topics chosen by students

Evaluation

Competence in the completion phase.
a.You are able to expertly use and critically evaluate professional terminology and concepts relating to young people's mental health and substance abuse care.
b. You are able to to find out the latest information from various databases and online links.
d. You are able to work in multidisciplinary cooperation in situations of different customers and co-operation partners.
Assessment at graduation-level know-how and skills.

Study forms and methods

Opintojakson tavoitteena ovat
- syvennät osaamistasi erityisesti nuorten päihde- ja mielenterveyskysymyksissä ja niiden ennaltaehkäisyssä ja hoidossa
- syvennät osaamistasi moniammatillisesta yhteistyöstä
- perehdyt nuorten hyvinvoinnin edistämisen yhteiskunnallisiin keinoihin ja erilaisiin verkostoihin sekä kolmanteen sektoriin

Student workload

Nuorten mielenterveys- ja päihdetyö 5 op ( 5 x 27h= 135h) sisältää verkossa työskentelyä.
