Objective

You solve problems of your study program using numbers, exploring and modeling dependences, applying general principles of computing and mathematically valid reasoning.
You use appropriate mathematical tools and communicate mathematically with others.

How to use numbers?
How to explore and model dependences?
How to apply general principles of computing and to carry out mathematically valid reasoning?
What kind of basic mathematical tools exist and how to use them?
How to communicate mathematically?
How all this helps you to solve basic problems of your study program?

Evaluation

Students
a) can handle basic mathematical concepts logically and communicate with others using them
c) recognize types of mathematical problems.
e) use basic mathematical models, methods and tools.

Course material

Opiskelumateriaalina kurssin Moodle-sivulla jaettu materiaali. Materiaali perustuu osittain kirjaan Insinöörin matematiikka, Tuomenlehto ym., 1.-3.painos. Myös muut painokset kelpaavat.

Kurssi sisältää lähiopetusta, ja harjoitustehtäviä. Osa harjoitustehtävistä saattaa olla palautettavia.
