Heating, ventilation and air conditioning machinery (HVAC) (1cr)

Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- basics of air conditioning systems and equipment on-board
- basics of monitoring and adjusting of air condition units and systems

Content

- electrical safety
- construction and functions of AC machinery on-board
- standards and regulations regarding AC system operations
- control and automation of AC machinery

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/6 column 4 are used:
- operation of equipment and system is in accordance with operating manuals
- performance levels are in accordance with technical specifications

Study forms and methods

Ilmoittautuessasi tälle opintojakson toteutukselle osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseen opetukseen ja ohjaukseen. Opiskelusi rytmittyy työjärjestyksen mukaisten ryhmätapaamisten ja itsenäisesti tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Opintojaksoon ei yleensä sisälly TKI- ja työelämäyhteistyötä. TKI-hankkeiden ja yritysten tilanteen mukaan joitain harjoitustehtäviä voi olla toimeksiantoina.

Timing of exams and assignments

Opintojaksolla on palautettavia kotitehtäviä ja harjoitustyö.

Student workload

1 op vastaa noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Työmäärä kuitenkin riippuu opiskelumenetelmistä ja aiemmasta osaamisesta.

Opintojakson hyväksytty suorittaminen edellyttää tehtävien ja harjoitustyön tekemistä hyväksytyllä arvosanalla.
